As I mentioned in another post - I will be issuing a PAGE KIT A DAY Challenge beginning Monday Feb 23. You will be issued a challenge that will include a shopping list for each page kit. The only rules are that you shop from YOUR OWN STASH. Here are some things you'll need to get started. I'll give you the weekend to prepare your stash.

You will need:

30 2.5 gallon ziplock baggies. If you already have some at home - DO NOT BUY NEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please use what you already have. If yours at home have stuff in them - leave it alone. You can use page kits you've already assembled and modify them for this challenge.

Photos - if you store your photos on your PC/external drive - now is the time to PRINT THEM OUT!!! Dont go wild and print every picture you've taken. I want you to select 1-2 pictures per layout. If it is an event like Christmas in which you have multiple photos, now is the time to experiment with the photo collage. Print any enlargements, digital techniques like B&W, low saturation or high contrast photos. Remember, you only need photos for 30 page kits. What helps me is to MAKE A LIST of events/photos that I have not scrapped yet. You dont want to find yourself scrapping the same photos 3 times - I've dont it myself.

ORGANIZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont expect to organize your ENTIRE scrapbook supply warehouse. But get a general idea of where your chipboard, embellishments, and paper are stored. If you're not sure how to organize it all - think about how you would shop in a store! I keep product lines together, holiday items together, etc.

Make sure you spend your weekend working on these tasks so that you'll be ready to go by Monday.

Good luck!

Oh Robs - thanks! This will challenge me to get this stuff ready and make some kits!

Andrea - I usually buy the bags at Walmart - they always have them (they are sometimes hard to find) and their prices are always pretty good!

My daughter-in-law bought me a two-box pack recently at B.J.'s but I don't remember how much they were.

PAGE KIT 1

Ok ladies Im taking it easy on you this week. This week will be mostly about keeping product lines together. Each day will be a little different. Today I'm going to start with this sample:

Image

In my example I have:

5 sheets double sided pp (the backs are solids in my example)
One Sheet alphabet
One Sheet Die cut elements
One package Felt Embellishments

These are all from the same product line. Once I assembled these coordinating items together I went through my stack of photos and chose this photo of my sister. The photo is in the page kit and ready to go.

Your challenge is to root thru your stash of product and grab a baggie and fill it with one entire product line. If you like to use ribbon/buttons/flowers in your layouts, go thru your stash and pull out some coordinating embellishments and drop them in your baggie.

If you're feeling froggy - choose a title ahead of time and jot it down on a post it or index card along with any journaling you might want to go along with it. There are tons of page titles, quotes and poems in the Resources section of Scrapbook.com

RULES!!! You must shop from your own stash and the product line can NOT BE NEW - dig deep into your stash and find a product line that you treasured enough to buy all of it.

Done! I have to admit it was fun! I loved "shopping" in my stash. It made me feel just like I brought home brand new stuff from my LS! Woohoo!
